Youth Innovation Unlocked: NYA & EdVenture Partners Join Forces

The National Youth Authority (NYA) has held a strategic meeting with EdVenture Partners (EVP), a global organization renowned for driving student-led innovation and experiential learning across more than 1,000 campuses in over 70 countries.

During the session, EVP’s Founder and CEO, Tony Sgro, presented their model, which empowers students to lead youth-driven innovation through experiential learning programs. These programs connect students to real-world challenges, encourage bold ideas, and provide government agencies and institutions with fresh perspectives, while equipping young people with tangible skills to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.

Executive Director of the Africa Center for Security and Counterterrorism, Emmanuel Kotin, emphasized the urgent need to mobilize the youth to address critical challenges such as drug abuse, cyber fraud, bullying, and the recent surge of tribalism on social media, which threaten Ghana’s peace and security. He added that with Africa’s population being 60% youth, this is the time to place young people at the forefront of finding solutions to pressing socio-economic and security concerns.

Deputy CEO (Finance & Administration) of NYA, Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule, expressed optimism about the potential partnership, commending EVP’s “Case+” program, which goes beyond ideation to include planning, execution, and measurable outcomes. He stressed that this approach aligns with NYA’s mission to equip young people not only with awareness but also with practical tools—skills, resources, and platforms to lead meaningful change in their schools, communities, and across the country.

Moving forward, both sides agreed to co-create programs that actively engage tertiary institutions and youth groups. EVP will mentor students to design and implement campaigns on critical social issues, while NYA will provide access, logistics, and support to ensure youth-led ideas are transformed into real, impactful action.
