Youth Energy Summit Empowers African Youth for the Future of Energy

The Youth Energy Summit (YES), aimed at empowering brilliant young Africans while addressing the existing skills gap in the energy sector, was held on 20th June 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, under the theme: “Youth Innovation in Future Energy Technologies”

The summit brought together over 4,000 participants, including students, educators, early-career professionals, and entrepreneurs.

Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions on Africa’s evolving energy landscape, offering insights and contributions to help drive the continent’s energy transformation.

YES also served as a platform for the next generation of energy professionals to expand their networks, strengthen connections, and enhance their knowledge—tools essential for advancing Africa’s energy objectives.

Among the dignitaries present was the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Hon. Osman Ayariga.

In his remarks, he underscored the NYA’s vision and reaffirmed the urgent need to invest in youth development across all sectors, particularly in energy, to secure a sustainable future for Africa.
