NYA Explores Strategic Partnership with German Social Entrepreneur to Advance Youth Development and Job Creation

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA) in charge of Operations and Programmes, Alhaji Inusah Mahama, has reaffirmed the Authority's commitment to building partnerships that create real opportunities for young Ghanaians. During a courtesy call at the Authority, Alhaji Mahama received Professor Berne Glazinski, who leads the Social Entrepreneurship Foundation under Thurn und Taxis Consulting, and youth advocate Nadia Owusu.

He noted that the NYA was ready to collaborate on initiatives that align with its mandate of youth empowerment and socio-economic development, and that the Authority would draw on opportunities available through the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and other development partners to support interventions that benefit Ghanaian youth.

Professor Glazinski expressed keen interest in supporting youth development in Ghana, with a focus on agriculture, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and the hospitality industry. He said his visit was aimed at exploring partnerships and investment opportunities that can create sustainable jobs, build skills, and improve livelihoods through social enterprise.

Nadia Owusu outlined two flagship projects driving the visit. The first is the Mobile Health Clinics Project, a public-private initiative that seeks to deploy 200 fully equipped health containers across rural Ghana over 24 months. The project is expected to improve access to primary healthcare for around four million people and create over 1,100 jobs, while supporting government efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in underserved communities.

The second initiative is the Agriculture Hub Ghana Project, a €6.45 million integrated agriculture and food-processing scheme designed to establish industrial-scale fruit and cashew processing facilities in Ghana. The project is projected to generate approximately 1,000 sustainable jobs while strengthening local value chains, boosting exports, and driving community development through agriculture.

Miss Nadia Owusu expressed confidence that collaboration with the NYA and other key stakeholders would accelerate the implementation of both projects and open wider opportunities for young people across the country.
