MASLOC Explores Partnership with National Youth Authority on Apprenticeship Programme
In a significant step towards boosting youth skills development, a delegation from the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) met with the National Youth Authority (NYA) to discuss a strategic partnership for the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP). The meeting, held at the NYA headquarters in Accra, focused on aligning MASLOC's financial expertise with NYA's mandate to implement the programme nationwide, with a particular emphasis on supporting Junior and Senior High School dropouts.
During the discussions, the NYA's Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Finance and Administration, Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule, welcomed the collaboration. "The National Youth Authority recognizes that sustainable youth empowerment requires a multi-faceted approach," he stated. "Our strength lies in grassroots mobilization and structured training through the NAP, and a partnership with MASLOC would be a powerful synergy, providing the crucial financial inclusion and start-up capital that our young graduates need to transition from apprentices to successful entrepreneurs."
The MASLOC delegation reaffirmed their institution's commitment to the national youth development agenda, highlighting their readiness to support the programme through mechanisms such as financing for apprenticeship kits and startup capital for trainees. They emphasized their availability for future collaborative projects, signaling a strong foundation for a lasting partnership aimed at reducing youth unemployment through practical skills and financial support.
