Keep leading, keep inspiring. Ghana rises with you.” - NYA CEO to Ghanaian Youth
On this year’s International Youth Day, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga Esq., has praised young Ghanaians for their pivotal role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. Under the global theme “Local Youth Actions for SDGs and Beyond,” the NYA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the country's young people, describing them as Ghana’s “most valuable resources.”
“Young change-makers across Ghana are already translating global goals into real, local impact,” the Authority said in a statement released Tuesday. It highlighted a growing wave of youth-led innovation, from tech entrepreneurs transforming digital marketplaces to green startups tackling waste management, and community advocates bridging education gaps.
The NYA pledged support to young innovators by committing to:
Transform youth-led ideas into funded, scalable projects
Ensure youth representation in national decision-making
Provide cutting-edge training for future job markets
“These actions are not just promises—they are a roadmap to ensure the SDGs are met through grassroots leadership,” the statement added.
However, the NYA also announced the postponement of the much-anticipated National Youth Festival, with a new date to be communicated in due course.
The Authority ended its message with a rallying call: “Keep leading, keep inspiring. Ghana rises with you.
