Youth Sector Working Group Would Enhance the Effectiveness of Youth Development Agencies - NYA CEO
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide, has emphasized the importance of establishing a youth sector working group to facilitate the coordination of all youth development agencies in the country to enhance effective youth empowerment.
He made this statement at a breakfast meeting held on June 10, 2024, at the British Council, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss critical strategies and progress in the youth development ecosystem.
The Youth Sector Working Group is an initiative aimed at facilitating strategic planning through the alignment and leveraging of efforts to address youth challenges, including unemployment. The sector working group will also identify opportunities and maximize resources to support young people.
Hon.Hadzide highlighted that the collective action of youth agencies would not only streamline processes but also foster a unified vision for youth development in the country. He called on all stakeholders to actively participate and contribute to the meeting's objectives.
"By coordinating our efforts and resources, we can create a more impactful and cohesive strategy to tackle youth unemployment and other pressing issues facing our young people," he stated.
The Country Director of the British Council, Nii Doodu Doodu, acknowledged the role of technology in facilitating the work of the sector working group in the midst of several applications of innovation and creativity of the Ghanaian youth with emerging technologies. Moreover, Mr. Doodu admonished the Group to uphold collective responsibilities in the face of challenges. He expressed excitement about leveraging efforts to make a positive change.
Overall, the breakfast meeting underscored the critical need for collaboration and coordination among youth agencies to drive meaningful progress in the youth sector. With the support of all stakeholders, the youth sector working group is poised to make significant strides in addressing the challenges and creating opportunities for the Ghanaian youth.
