Gov’t Pledges Inclusion of PWDs in National Apprenticeship Programme

The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusivity by ensuring that persons with disabilities (PWDs) are fully integrated into the National Apprenticeship Programme.

Speaking at an engagement with individuals with disabilities in Accra, the minister emphasized that PWDs are key stakeholders in the government’s flagship initiatives, Adwumawura and the National Apprenticeship Programme. He assured that no one would be left out of government policies aimed at skills development and economic empowerment.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Arc. Osman Ayariga Esq., encouraged individuals with disabilities to join various associations better to position themselves for government support and policy benefits.

The Deputy CEO of NYA in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule, highlighted the Authority’s efforts in providing education, skills training, and opportunities for young people, including PWDs. He described the engagement as a platform for inspiration—one where dreams are nurtured, and passions ignited.
