European Union Pays Courtesy Call on NYA

A delegation from the European Union, Ghana, paid a courtesy call on the National Youth Authority on June 6, 2024.

The meeting was primarily an introductory session to acquaint both institutions with their individual mandates concerning youth development and empowerment and to explore possible partnerships.

Speaking on behalf of the CEO of NYA, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations and Programs, Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah, commenced the meeting by outlining the broad objectives and mandates of the Authority. He enlightened the team on some priority projects and development initiatives of NYA. These projects include the recently inaugurated National Youth Peace and Security Working Group, the National Youth Volunteers Program, Skills Towards Employability and Productivity projects, and others.

The Head of Governance and Security Sector, EU Delegation to Ghana, Anna Lixi, elaborated on their core values concerning advancing youth development and their areas of work, which align with those of NYA. She showed interest in NYA's National Youth Peace and Security project as it serves as a platform to enhance collaboration between the two entities.

Mr. Owusu Ansah expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the EU delegation and looks forward to many collaborative projects between the two organizations, especially in the area of Youth Peace and Security.
