The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Alhaji Inusah Mahama has called on young people to commit to building a profession that is robust, respected, and ready to nurture the next generation of Ghanaian leaders.

He made this charge during the official launch of the Association of Youth Work Practitioners Ghana, held at the GNAT Hall in Accra, under the theme “Growing the Profession of Youth Work in Ghana.”

Alhaji Inusah emphasized that the gathering was more than just ceremonial; it marked a critical step towards strengthening the foundation of youth development in the country. He noted that the theme was a “call to action” that the National Youth Authority fully endorses and remains committed to supporting.

Also speaking at the event, Tanya Merrick Powel, Co-Chair of the Commonwealth Alliance of Youth Workers Associations (CAYWA), urged the youth to continue advocating for the professionalization of youth work. She stressed the need to enhance the recognition, standards, and legitimacy of youth work as a respected profession capable of delivering effective and impactful results.
