Brandenburg Youth Delegation Engages NYA on Empowerment and Political Inclusion

A delegation from Young Progress Service, Brandenburg, Germany has visited the National Youth Authority (NYA) to engage in dialogue on youth empowerment, political involvement, and their role in national development.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NYA, Osman Ayariga Esq., in his remarks, provided an overview of the Authority’s work and the broader mission of the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, emphasizing the Ministry’s goal of addressing challenges and enhancing the development of Ghanaian youth.

Mr. Ayariga highlighted key agencies under the Ministry and their initiatives. Under the NYA, the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) is designed to equip young Ghanaians with practical, employable skills, and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) focuses on reducing unemployment across the country. He further noted the role of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in supporting startups and small businesses with vital development services, as well as the National Service Authority (NSA), which provides graduates with practical exposure to both public and private sector roles while introducing compulsory military training this year.

Maximilian Henningsen, leader of the Young Progress Service delegation, shared their mission: “We are young local politicians and social democrats from Germany, dedicated to empowering people and strengthening local democracy. Our passion lies in creating inclusive systems where grassroots voices are heard, and youth are given the platform to shape the future.”
